Songs That Will Give Us Confidence10:30 AM
As young women and men, we have days when we're not feeling our best. We may be having a bad hair day, or simply feel ugly. We all at one point of our lives felt we're not good enough. During those days , sometimes we want a friend or a someone to vent out those emotions. I'm going to help. Together, we will listen to songs of encouragement to motivate us. Take a look at the playlist below.
I Am The Best- 2NE1
To start the playlist off, we may need to remind ourselves that we are the best. If you don't have a clue what 2ne1 is saying, just remember that Naega Jeil Jal Naga means "I Am The Best" in Korean which they say often in the chorus of the song. Let's walk with confidence together, and never forget that we're the best.
How many of us strive to be a perfect version of ourselves? We need to remind ourselves that we can never be the perfect version of ourselves . Pink's song "Perfect" is a great song to enjoy on days when we're feeling mistreated, doubtful, and less than perfect. She sings about feeling the same way before, but she tells her listeners that she's overcome those emotions and to never feel less than the perfect version of ourselves.
Crooked Smile- J Cole
A smile is one of the best accessories we can wear. We often find it hard to smile when we're not in the best mood. "Crooked Smile" by J. Cole tells about the insecurities we sometimes face as young women. The challenge: We all smile through our "crooked teeth" because it's what make us who we are.
Beautiful- Christina Aguilera
I couldn't have the playlist without this beautiful ballad. Whenever we feel bad and told by others that we are ugly just remember we are beautiful no matter what others say.
Video- India Arie
Have you ever thought your not the average girl that the media calls beautiful? Have you ever looked at images on the magazines and billboards and wondered why you don't look like that girl? Half of the images on TV and billboards are not real. There's nothing wrong with the way we look at all, it's society that's ugly. India Arie sings about loving herself despite what the media calls beautiful.
Take Me As I Am- Mary J Blige
No matter what people think of us, if they don't like us for who we are than they will have to leave. One of my favorite Mary J. Blige songs is "Take Me As I Am". On it she sings about accepting herself despite her past mistakes.Reminder: We Can Only Be Ourselves.
