5 Things I LOVE about Game of Thrones

6:12 PM

If you read my posts on my Winter Favorites, you know I binge watched HBO's The Game of Thrones series and love it! Since season 4 is just around the corner, I decided to give you guys who haven't seen it a little push to watch the most epic TV series today. It took a lot of prodding from friends and folks on tumblr to get me to finally watch the show, but I'll just give you the main reasons I love the show that will make you want to watch it. Spoilers withheld of course.

Strong Women

I have always been a big girl power enthusiast since my Sailor Moon days, so I love seeing women who refuse to just be background characters or play the damsel in distress. Which is why I love the women in Game of Thrones! Arya Stark, Daenerys Targaryen, and Cersei Lannister are the three strongest women in the series and I love them (okay, I admire Cersei's cunningness and wish she'd fall out the nearest tower at the same time). Despite their obstacles, they are able to create their own lanes and make things happen for them.

Real Characters

There is no cookie cutter good guy /bad guy in this show. Everyone has layers, and you'll find yourself feeling sympathy for even the most despicable characters and wanting to clobber the good guys from time to time.

Great Story

There is nothing predictable about the storyline which is the best thing about this show. I always hate it when a movie/show makes everything very predictable but the story with this is not. Unless you havr already read the books, every episode is going to give you surprise after surprise (at least those of us who haven't gotten to read the book yet). Oh, and don't get to attached to any characters anytime soon.

Zombies

Yes, there are zombies in The Game of Thrones, but they aren't your typical brain eating walkers. White Walkers only come out every 100 years and wreak havoc on the living and bring years of dark, cold winter with them. These things are able to cheat most zombie rules by having weapons, and can only be killed by fire. My boyfriend calls them frost bitten zombies.

Dragons

Yes,there are dragons! And if don't get excited about that then there is something wrong with you!

*This is NOT a sponsored post, I just really like this show and can't wait for the new season!*

Are you a Game of Thrones fan? Are you ready for the next season, or is there another show you can't wait to see?

  1. I've been meaning to watch this show! I keep it on in the background while I'm doing things in my room but I need to start paying attention to it! I just know it's one of those shows where you need to watch it from the beginning and keep track of what you're seeing lol Definitely not an easy experience.

  2. I love how someone on the Game of Thrones team actually spent time to add balls to this guy knowing full and well that there is sick people who actually would look at the statues crotch area. lmao

  4. I tried watching two episodes because I could have really used the info to understand the show better, but it just didn't work for me. It's a fairly lame attempt at copying the successful Talking Dead show but without the very entertaining host and guests.
