6 Things to do Now for a Better Semester

10:29 AM

School is officially back in session for many of us now, so it's time to get out of the summer haze and get adjusted this semester. Here are a few things you need to do now to make sure your semester goes as smoothly as possible.

1.Fill Your Calendar
You know that syllabus that the instructor gave you the first day? Dig it out of your bookbag and start adding in all the important test dates and essay deadlines. If you save it to your phone, set reminders a few days ahead of the big event to stay prepared.

2.Add your Contacts

Add all your teachers contact info to your address book. You wouldn't know how many times I've been confused about an assignment but couldn't remember what the beat ways to contact my teacher were. This will save you some trouble in the long run.

3. Find Your Book
We already told you that you may not need a book to pass class, but this rule doesn't work for everyone. If you know for sure that you will need a book for your class, then start searching for resources to get your textbook now.

4.Adjust your work schedule
For those of us part timers out there, make sure you've already told worked out your new schedule for this semester. You need to give yourself enough time for classes, studying, and traveling to and from work. Take it from my own personal experience - you will hate having to call out because they scheduled you during a class day.Your managers will too.

5.Start delving into clubs and orgs
Club fairs should be popping up all around campus, so this is a great time to explore and see what kind of activities your school has. It's best to see them all now to get involved, so you won't forget about anything that interested you.

6.Have fun!
Go to the campus events, see the Greeks stroll, get free food! This is only the beginning of a new semester, so you should enjoy this time of peace while you can.
